Our Mission

Safe Without Sound, Inc. was formed in February 2007 as result of the work of its founder, James Williams of San Antonio Texas.  While searching for a smoke detector that would alert his Hard of Hearing teenage son Nicholas, Mr. Williams was astonished at the price for even the most basic units.  Thinking that something needed to be done to help the Deaf and Hard of Hearing have access to these vital devices, Mr. Williams answered the call of God to bridge the gap and advocate for this underserved segment of our society.  It was then that Safe Without Sound, Inc. was created. 

The mission of SØS is simple.  We are here to ensure that every Deaf and Hard of Hearing individual in the Greater San Antonio area have access to alerting devices.  SØS is a non-profit Christian ministry.  The corporation was formed to minister to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing through practical, hands on service.  Our preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ comes in the form of serving His sheep in the greater Deaf community.  In this, we strive to meet the definition of “true religion” as found in the Epistle of James, Chapter 1 verse 27.
